So, spelling out the abbreviations didn't work? If I was new to cloth diapering, it wouldn't have helped me either! So here's what they really mean
AIO - All in one - Just like you'd imagine... it's one piece... a waterproof outer layer (can be fleeze, wool, PUL, vinyl... you name it) and an absorbant inner layer. Many AIO's these days have "flaps" sewn in, making drying quicker. AIO's have a bad reputation for taking forever to dry. Many newer ones have implemented the flaps, cutting down on drying time. Basically, what it is is the really absorbant material isn't swen into the middle of the diaper. It's partially sewn in. Make sense? For those without the flaps, just picture a disposable diaper. All the absorbant material is sewn into the diaper. They come in "one size fits all" or sized x-small, small, medium, medium-long (some brands, not all), large, x-large. You can also choose from velcro closure or snaps. What could be easier? Various brands of AIO's include Just Ducky Baby, Monkey Doodlez, Imse Vimse, Mommy's Touch, bumGenius, HoneyBoys!, and so many more!
Pocket Diapers - Pocket diapers are a great invention. They consist of a waterproof outer layer (usually PUL) with a fleece inner layer. At the back there is an opening for an insert. Don't even get me started on inserts! I don't even know all the inserts out there. But I do sell a lot of them. ANyway, back to pocket diapers. They also have snaps or velcro. You can stuff these diapers with as much, or as little, as you need to keep your baby dry. These make awesome night time diapers. My babies never leak at night. I double stuff a Fuzzi Bunz, Happy Heiny, or Mommy's Touch pocket diaper and my baby wakes up dry (on the outside anyway). Other brand names are DryBees, Disposanots, bumGenius, Monkey Doodlez, to name a few.
Fitted Diapers - Just like AIO's, but there isn't a waterproof outer layer, so these diapers require a waterproof diaper cover. There are really easy to find... and most people who make their own diapers make fitted diapers. Some brand names are Monkey Doodlez, Mommy's Touch, Imse Vimse, Bamboozles (awesome Bamboo diapers!), Heiny Huggers, Happy Hempys and so many more!
Time for bed... more to come soon!

You use cloth diapers?

Why, yes I do!! And I sell them.
Why?
For so many reasons. Did you know the little gel beads inside disposable diapers are made with the same stuff tampons used to be made of? The same tampons that were recalled because they caused Toxic Shock Syndrome?
Do you know how many diapers end up in landfills? Billions.
Why else do I use cloth diapers? Because they're so darn cute! Just look at that diaper!
So, you don't know anything about cloth diapers?
Let me enlighten you... in another post.
