Revolution Money Exchange RME

I decided to take the plunge and be one of the few cloth diaper stores to accept RME payments. What is RME? It's kind of like PayPal. But no fees. Yet. LOL Well... there are some fees. Like $2.50 for a paper check of your funds instead of transfer to a bank account.

One way RME is different than PayPal... you can only spend what's in your account. If you have $19.99 in your account and want to spend $20, you can't. At least that's my understanding. And if you go into "overdraft" then you get dinged with fees. No different than a bank.

Be prepared for a long wait for your money to go from your bank account to your RME account and vice versa. Long wait = several days.

If you have the right amount of money in your account, and you pay a money request, the transfer is instant.

If you don't have an RME account, and would like one, let me know! I will send you an "invitation" and RME will deposit $25 in your account for free (after you set up your account)! What could one buy for $25? Hmmmm.... tough one. Cloth diapers with free shipping come to mind! Click on the "contact us" button on the top right side of my website and shoot me an email, or leave me a comment here!

There is a lot more to RME, but that's it in a nutshell. I am not putting 100% faith in it yet... but so far so good. I have has several transactions so far, and no problems. I know from my point of view there are issues, but from a customer's point of view, far less. So for now, RME payments are welcome at Cloth Babies.

can i ask you, as a seller, what are the issues that you've had with it? i'm a custom card designer and am thinking of accepting it as payment but i'm wondering what the hidden problems are going to be-- it seems to easy with the no fees, etc!

Hi Lindsayk8!

I will admit I know more about RME than I know about blogger. I don't know why I wasn't notified if your comment, or if I am replying to your comment inthe right place!

The only problem I have with RME is that it is not integrated with my shopping cart. So once I get the order, I have to go into RME and manually send out an invoice for the amount I am owed. It's not a huge deal... it's just an extra step.

Every few days I transfer over any money from my RME account to my business checking account. It takes about 3 days to get my money (no different than PayPal).

Hope this helps!
